Requirement for Voter to have His/Her Finger Marked with Ink During the Voting Process

Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – Friday, 24 January 2025: The Supervisor of Elections take this opportunity to remind Voters that in accordance with the Revised Elections Ordinance 2024 it is a requirement for a voter to have his/her finger marked with ink or dye as part of the voting process.

If a voter refuses, he/she will not be allowed to vote.

Section 52(9)(d) of the Ordinance stipulate the following:

“The Presiding Officer shall require the voter to have his finger to be marked with ink or dye and shall not allow the voter to vote if the voter refuses to have his finger so marked”.

Candidates, Political Parties, Independent Candidates and voters must comply with the law governing the marking of voter’s finger.

Please be aware of this as you go to the polling stations on February 7th 2025.

This law will be strictly enforced without exception.
