Turks and Caicos, January 27, 2025 – With a blue sharpie in hand, one by one, all 19 candidates of the People’s Democratic Movement on Friday January 24, signed beneath their photographs as a symbolic gesture of commitment, they said, as the team presented to the public its newest playbook: Your Future, Our Priority.

The PDM party’s manifesto comes as the islands prepare for a February 7 General Election, which will see more election seats, more electors able to vote, a new electronic voting system and more years to serve as the winner will hold office until 2030.

“Turks and Caicos Islands, by signing this, I am making a commitment to you and your future.  I am making a commitment to your priorities,” said Edwin Astwood, PDM party leader, adding, “This is the team that is going to deliver for you.  This is the team, if you want your future, you want your children’s future, your children’s children’s future … this is the team for you!”

Ahead of each candidate signing the manifesto, Ezra Taylor, National Party Chairman explained, “We are here for business and nobody or nothing is going to get in our way of delivering that business.”

Party leader Astwood gave an overview of the book’s content and context, listing many of the communities specifically mentioned in the 2025 election promise of the party in blue. It was an effort to demonstrate that all communities within the constituencies are prioritised for projects and enhancements.

“This is our commitment to you, hold us to it,” said Astwood before inviting prayer by Apostle Ruth Ariza, one of the All Island Candidates on the PDM ticket.
