NASSAU, The Bahamas — A wreath-laying ceremony was held in observance of Majority Rule Day on January 10. Two wreaths were laid in memory of the freedom fighters who ushered in Majority Rule, and brought into being equal opportunity for all Bahamians.
The service was led by Prime Minister and Minister of Finance the Hon. Philip Davis, who gave an address, at Sir Lynden Pindling Centre. Also bringing remarks was Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Hon. Fred Mitchell. The Prime Minister, in his address, noted: “The struggles we face today may not be the same as those fought by our forebears in 1967, but they demand the same courage and resolve.”
