Turks and Caicos, December 17, 2024 – 2025 is slated as the year for the next General Election in the TCI to be held. Sections 69 and 70 of the Political Activities Ordinance 2012 provide for persons to be registered as Independent Candidates to contest seats in the House of Assembly. To be registered as an Independent Candidate one must comply with the requirements of Section 69 of the Political Activities Ordinance.
The Commission herby notifies the general public that any persons who qualify to be members of the House of Assembly under the Constitution of the Turks and Caicos Islands, who may be interested in registering as Independent Candidates, may reach out to the Commission at numbers 946-1941, 941-7847 or 338-3335, or visit our website, www.IntegrityCommission.tc where under Political Activities you will find the Registration Form (FORM 1A) that applies to Independent Candidates.
We also strongly advise that interested persons also peruse the several brochures and Guidance Notes relating to Independent Candidates, Donations, Campaign Expenditure amongst others, and also, The Elections Ordinance, so as to familiarize yourselves with what will be demanded of you should you decide to register as an Independent Candidate.
The Commission will be scheduling several engagements with interested persons prior to the General Election and as always looks forward to working with all in their political endeavours.
