Turks and Caicos, December 17, 2024 – DEMARDO CLARE, 44, has been charged with Conspiracy to Possess a Firearm.
Mr Clare of Blue Hills, Providenciales, appeared before the Supreme Court on December 10th, 2024, for a bail hearing.
The accused was granted $20,000 bail with surety and the following conditions.
1) Surrender his Passport to the Court
2) Not to leave the Island unless with prior agreement with the Court
3) Reside at a given specific location
4) ‘Sign-in’ once per week, every Saturday at the Chalk Sound Police Station between 8 am -6pm
Mr. Clare is scheduled to re-appear in court on February 07, 2025 for a Sufficiency Hearing.
Mr Clare was charged following an investigation undertaken by the Serious Crime Unit where it is alleged that he conspired with a person outside the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) to import a number of illegal firearms into TCI.
