Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands 5th December 2024 – The Turks and Caicos Islands Border Force reminds all international travellers that if you are carrying cash or negotiable instruments with a combined value exceeding USD $10,000 (or equivalent in other currencies), you are required to declare it.

Negotiable instruments includes:

  • Notes and coins
  • Bearer bonds
  • Traveller’s cheques
  • Money orders
  • Gold coins
  • Bullion or nuggets

How to Declare Your Cash:

  1. Complete the Report of International Transportation of Money form. Forms are available from the TCI Border Force website: https://borderforce.gov.tc/forms or the Border Force counter at ports of entry. You will need to provide details about the cash you’re carrying, including:
  • The amount and type of currency (USD, Euros, etc.)
  • The source of the funds (where you got the money)

·        The intended use of the funds (what you plan to do with the money)

2.      Submit the form to TCI Border Force upon arrival (if entering the islands) or before departure (if leaving the islands).

On arrival, follow ‘goods to declare’ or ‘red channel’ signs and tell a Border Force Officer that you want to declare cash. If you didn’t download the Report of International Transportation of Money form beforehand, the Border Force Officer can provide one for you.

Penalties for Non-Compliance:

Failure to file the required form or provide accurate information on the form may result in seizure of the cash or negotiable instruments and legal action.
