Nassau, The Bahamas, November 7, 2024  Dunkin’ Bahamas proudly announces a donation of $12,500 to the Sister Sister Breast Cancer Support Group, extending essential support to Bahamians affected by breast cancer. This donation, raised through customer contributions during Dunkin’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign in October and matched by Dunkin’, will assist Sister Sister in providing life-saving medical devices and resources to underserved patients in The Bahamas.

Katherine Nelson, Dunkin’s Director of Operations, emphasized the brand’s commitment to community-driven initiatives: “At Dunkin’ Bahamas, we believe in giving back to our community and standing with those who need it most. Partnering with the Sister Sister Breast Cancer Support Group to support breast cancer patients is incredibly meaningful for us. Their work makes a difference in the lives of countless women and their families, offering hope, resilience, and necessary treatment resources. We are honored to contribute to this cause and to help bring strength and hope to breast cancer patients across The Bahamas.”

Since its founding in September 2000 by Dr. Charles Diggiss, Dr. Locksley Munroe, and Nurse Charlene McPhee, the Sister Sister Breast Cancer Support Group has been dedicated to providing emotional, spiritual, and medical support to women navigating breast cancer. Beyond offering compassionate guidance, the group supplies port-a-cath devices, essential for chemotherapy treatments, to patients who often cannot afford them. The funds donated by Dunkin’ will be directed toward purchasing these devices, as well as needles, assisting with PET/CT scans, imaging services, chemotherapy, radiation, and other crucial support services for patients.

Shantell Cox-Hutchinson, President of the Sister Sister Breast Cancer Support Group, expressed her heartfelt gratitude: “On behalf of the many survivors this donation will assist, we extend our deepest thanks to Dunkin’ and their customers. This support means more than words can convey; it offers strength, hope, and survivorship to those who need it most.

The generosity of Dunkin’ Bahamas will make a profound impact on the lives of our patients, allowing us to continue our mission of support and care.”

Dunkin’ Bahamas remains committed to fostering hope and community spirit, proud to support local initiatives that make a tangible difference in the lives of Bahamians. With partnerships like this, Dunkin’ demonstrates the impact of community and collective support, proving once again that The Bahamas runs on Dunkin’.
