It also emphasised the importance of ethical decision-making, supporting vulnerable individuals, and effective teamwork.
This investment in training aligns with the TCIBF’s strategic goal of enhancing its investigative capabilities and strengthening its commitment to upholding the law and protecting the Turks and Caicos Islands. The organisation recognises the importance of ongoing professional development and plans to implement a mentoring programme to further bolster its investigative capacity.
The Minister of Immigration and Border Services, Honourable Arlington Musgrove expressed his pride in this initiative stating, “I am immensely proud of our officers who have successfully completed the Investigation development programme. This programme is a testament to our commitment in transforming the TCIBF into a formidable organisation geared to protecting our beautiful islands from acts of criminality. We are empowering our officers to deter, detect, and dismantle criminal networks that threaten our nation’s security.”
TCIBF extends its sincere gratitude to Director Sharlene Richards for her vision and implementation of this program. The organisation also thanks its stakeholders, the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force and the Office of the Public Prosecution, for their invaluable assistance in scoping the training program. Finally, the TCIBF would like to thank the University of East London for delivering an exceptional course.
By investing in its officers’ professional development, Border Force is taking significant strides towards building a stronger, more effective, and more resilient law enforcement agency.
