Tuesday, October 22, 2024 – Turks and Caicos Islands – In a session at the Coroner’s Court on Friday, October 18, 2024, the Honorable Coroner Ms. Mickia Mills was informed by police officials that two individuals accused in separate fatal motor vehicle accidents had absconded.

The escapees are linked to the deaths of John Alexander Robinson and Eric De Montigny.

John Alexander Robinson was born in 1989 and had just celebrated his 34th birthday on April 28, three days before his death.  A male suspect had been charged in connection with Robinson’s death but has since disappeared, leading the Coroner to adjourn the case sine die (without a fixed date).

The accused had been released on bail by the Magistrate’s Court but failed to return for a scheduled hearing. Robinson’s family, devastated and in tears, learned of his disappearance when they attended the court on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.  It is believed the suspect may have fled to Haiti.
