Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands 29th October 2024 – The Turks and Caicos Islands Border Force, in collaboration with the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force, conducted an intelligence-led operation in Providenciales to combat human trafficking. This operation successfully identified and safeguarded 21 females suspected of being victims of human trafficking.
The operation has initiated a parallel investigation with other law enforcement agencies to dismantle the networks facilitating human trafficking and other organised crime.
Border Force is committed to pursuing these criminal organisations and holding perpetrators accountable for their heinous actions. Further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
The Turks and Caicos Islands Border Force reminds the public that human trafficking is a serious criminal offence, punishable by a fine without limit and/or imprisonment for up to 10 to 14 years.
