Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands: The Turks and Caicos Islands Gaming Control Commission (TCIGCC) successfully hosted a pivotal meeting with Route Operators and Casino Operators on Friday, 9th August 2024. This meeting was a significant step in strengthening industry relationships and enhancing regulatory practices.
Key topics discussed included mandatory compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, responsible gaming initiatives, and updates on new gaming areas. The meeting underscored the Commission’s commitment to ensuring that all stakeholders align with the regulatory framework and contribute to a safe, fair, and responsible gaming environment.
Acting Managing Director, Mr. Dexter J. Parker, highlighted the Commission’s focus on continuous training and development noting, “Enhancing regulatory capacity through comprehensive training is imperative for our mission. By equipping our staff and stakeholders with the necessary tools and knowledge, we ensure that they can effectively monitor and maintain compliance across the industry.”
The meeting featured presentations from Ms. Arlene Deveaux, AML Coordinator, Mr. Wayne Higgs, Director of Enforcement and Investigation and Mr. Leo Lightbourne, Responsible Gaming Coordinator. Their insights provided valuable guidance on compliance, enforcement, and responsible gaming practices.
