TCI Regiment welcomes 16 New Recruits, Governor and Premier at Passing Out Ceremony

Turks and Caicos, August 8, 2024 – On August 3, 2024, Her Excellency the Governor Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam and the Honourable Premier Charles Washington Misick attended the Fourth Passing Out Parade of the Turks and Caicos Islands Regiment.

The ceremony was the culmination of an intensive two-week camp that included training in Humanitarian and Disaster Relief (HADR) Support skills, Battle Field Casualty Drills, Human Security and basic policing skills.

Sixteen (16) new recruits passed the training and have now joined the ranks of the Turks and Caicos Islands Regiment.

Highlights from the event included awards granted to three recruits for their exceptional efforts during the training: – Best Endeavour Award – Recruit Lucan Saunders; Most Physically Fit and Recruit – Recruit Yanique Haye-Smith; Most Outstanding Recruit Award – Alex Bernadin.

The Governor and the Premier commended the recruits and marines for their hard work, commitment and willingness to serve.

They also gave thanks to the diligent efforts of the Regiment Training team and the families and employers of Regiment members for their invaluable support as we work to build the Regiment’s capacity and capability.
