Shooting Death

Turks and Caicos, August 12, 2024 – The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force Serious Crime Unit is investigating the death of 71- year -old Reginald Nathaniel Forbes.

On Sunday 11th August 2024, at 10:27 am the Police Control Room received calls of  loud explosions being heard in Mathilda Way, Five Cays Providenciales.

Officers from Serious Crime, Tactical, and other units were dispatched, where upon arrival discovered Mr. Forbes motionless on the ground, with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

Commissioner of Police Edvin Martin wishes to express deep condolences to the relatives and friends of Mr Forbes on behalf of the RT&CIPF.

Commissioner Martin said, “Today’s killing of an elderly individual can only be described as senseless. The disregard and disrespect for life by criminals has left an entire community mourning. The RT&CIPF is doing everything within the confines of the law to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

“We are calling on the public who may have witnessed or have in their possession footage of the incident to come forward with the information.”

We are asking anyone with information that may help in these investigations to contact the closest police station, 911, the Serious Crime Unit at 231-1842, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 to provide any information anonymously.
