St. Lucia, August 15, 2024 – Seven Olympic Games for St Lucia with no medals, until now… not only did the athlete who disrupted that trend do so in speedy style, indisputably dominating the field in the 100m sprint but she secured the country’s first gold medal and then came back to get St Lucia a silver.

Julien Alfred has an impressive collection now; the Olympic Champion was carried like a jet by a nation of some 200,000 people who were clearly confident in her ability to bring home gold.

At 23-years-old, this University of Texas Longhorn hails from Castries in St Lucia and dazzles with her smile, ultra-fit physique and is now catapulted to super stardom as the fastest woman in the world at 100 metres and the second fastest at the 200 meters.

Double medals in one games, won for St Lucia by one woman…the incomparable, Julien Alfred.
