Jamaica, August 15, 2024 – Kishane Thompson shares the fastest time in the Men’s 100m, controversially awarded the silver medal in a race many called a “dead heat.”
Currently, Jamaica’s fastest man, Kishane Thompson is 23-year-old and proved to be the sprinter who would not disappoint at the Summer Olympics in Paris. It was Kishane who led a chase to the finish line in, arguably, the closest 100m sprint ever seen at this level.
Though sports analysts argued that Thompson should have also been awarded a gold medal in the race, sharing the champion title with the USA’s Noah Lyles, a photo finish verdict gave it to Lyles, said to have completed the dash five thousandths of a second ahead of Kishane Thompson.
