Gun toting Royal Jewels robber guilty, Sentenced to Seven more Years

#TurksandCaicos, June 7, 2024 – He was on trial for months, trying to clear his name as one of the five or more persons who participated in a daring daytime heist of one of Providenciales’ original and leading jewelry stores, “The Royal Jewels,” on Leeward Highway.

The offense took place on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. His trial before a seven-member jury, which was then reduced to six and subsequently to five members, lasted from January 22 to April 18, 2024.

He was found guilty on all counts and sentenced on Wednesday, June 5, to a maximum overall sentence of seven years imprisonment for nearly one million dollars in stolen jewelry, cash, other items, and serious damages to the business establishment.

He was convicted and sentenced for two counts of robbery, receiving five years for each count.

He received a one-year sentence for the stolen vehicle used in the robbery.

He received seven years of imprisonment for the firearm offense related to the robberies.

Her Ladyship, The Hon. Ms. Tanya Lobban Jackson, ordered all sentences to run concurrently. All remand time spent in custody by WILLIGENCE NOEL before conviction and before being granted bail must be taken into account when calculating his overall sentence of seven years imprisonment.

WILLIGENCE NOEL, 23, spent around three years in imprisonment before being granted bail and then tried.

Therefore, the sentence of the court is seven years imprisonment.
