Grand Turk Woman, RUBIEE FORBES ACQUITTED

#TurksandCaicos, June 25, 2024 – Eagle Legal News Media The jurors all agreed she was NOT GUILTY and on June 19, Rubiee Forbes learned her fate, ending months on edge as she faced a mandatory 12 years in prison.

Two hours of intense deliberations and Rubiee Forbes was acquitted for unlawfully being in possession of one round of ammunition.

The allegation was that, while travelling from Grand Turk to Providenciales on July 26, 2023, Forbes was in possession – unlawfully – of one round of ammunition. It was found in her travel bag.  In a trial that started on June 4, where empaneled was a six-member jury, Rubiee Forbes was represented by Kimone Tennant, assist to Oliver Smith, KC.

Judge presiding in the case was Hon Chris Selochan, Grand Turk Supreme Court justice.
