Deputy Premier speaks at Housing Project Initiative

#TurksandCaicos, June 25, 2024 – The Government of the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) is showcasing what it calls a “pivotal moment” in its ongoing efforts to enhance and expand housing opportunities for the citizens.

Trumpeting the position, Deputy Premier and Minister of Physical Planning and Infrastructure Development, Hon. Jamell Robinson says the administration has inaugurated framework agreement, which is a commitment to building a brighter future for our communities.

“This initiative underscores our Government’s dedication to addressing the housing needs of our people, ensuring that every family has access to quality homes,” he said while speaking at the recent ceremony of the Contractors Orientation for Program 2, a housing project initiative.

The Minister added that the importance of collaboration and partnership, for success of Program hinges on the “cooperative efforts of all stakeholders” involved Government bodies, private contractors, and the community at large.

“I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Housing and Community Renewal and the Procurement Department team, for their tireless efforts in bringing this project to fruition. The collective work of your small team is commendable,” he told his audience.

Further, Minister Robinson said the role of the “esteemed contractors” in the initiative is crucial, and their expertise, commitment to quality, and adherence to the highest standards of construction will ensure that the homes being repaired are “sanctuaries for our citizens.

“We trust that you will undertake this project with the skill and excellence that have come to define your work. This is partnership, let us remember that the true measure of our success will be seen in the lives we touch and the communities we uplift. Each home represents a dream realised, a family secured, and a future made brighter,” Mr. Robinson stated.

The Minister told the forum that he was confident that with the combined efforts of all involved, Program 2 of the initiative will set a new benchmark in housing development in the region, and all must work together with a shared vision for a better tomorrow.

“I would like to reiterate our Government’s support for this initiative, and our commitment to fostering a collaborative environment for all stakeholders. Together, we can achieve extraordinary things and create a legacy of which we can all be proud,” the Minister said.
