#TurksandCaicos, April 3, 2024 – Magnetic Media, like thousands of islanders now is in receipt of numerous voice notes and messages of dire concern about a member of the North Caicos Stars junkanoo group, who represented the TCI as part of the Bahamas Junkanoo ensemble at the 51st CARIFTA Games staged in Grenada.

The teenaged boy, a student of Raymond Gardiner High School is stuck in Grenada, when by now he should have been headed home to the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Cynclair Musgrove, the child’s chaperone is working feverishly now to get J-Nevo Handfield Agenor home after a mix up with his brand new British passport resulted in a cancellation of the US entry document and he was not permitted to board his flight and was left in Grenada.

It was hoped he would be able to get onto an interCaribbean Airways flight, but that aircraft was reportedly full and the child now remains in Grenada, under  the care of some friends of TCI.  Relatives, we are told of the nurse in North Caicos.

It is a highly emotive moment.  Tempers are raging.  Misinformation is being spread. And flights to get the teenager home are near impossible to find.

We  have reached out to Minister of Education, Youth and Sports for the Turks and Caicos Rachel Taylor, who is currently travelling home from Grenada and to Lyndon Gardiner, Chairman of interCaribbean Airways in an effort to ascertain what can be done to get the young man home.

At this hour, we are told Musgrove is planning to return to Grenada.  We are also told someone else may make that journey with the J-Nevo to Canada; he would then fly from there into the Turks and Caicos Islands.  At last check, that travel itinerary was still up in the air.

It is a disturbing and disappointing finale to the CARIFTA experience for the group, which had wowed audiences in the final junkanoo rush out which erupted to conclude the Games held at the Kirani James Athletics stadium.

This is a developing story, we will bring updates as they come.
