#Haiti#Jamaica#Orphans, March 22nd, 2024 – Fifty-nine disabled Haitian orphans and 13 of their caregivers from the HaitiChildren Charity in Haiti, arrived in Portland Jamaica by boat on Thursday March 21st, and they will be housed at an internationally renowned Catholic charity in Kingston called Mustard Seed Communities. Efforts to bring the children to Jamaica were being made for months but despite authorization by the Jamaican Government, they were awaiting permission from the Haitian Government to leave Haiti. While they waited, 9 children unfortunately died due to gang activity, according to the Co-founder of the HaitiChildren Charity, Susie Krabecher, who expressed great appreciation to Jamaica. Jamaica’s Foreign Minister Kamina Johnson Smith, who was a key player in making this happen describes this as a mission of mercy.
