#KingCharlesIII#Cancer, February 6th, 2024 –  Following treatment for an enlarged prostate recently King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer.
The news came on Monday February 5, from Buckingham Palace via statement at 6 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. EST). Posted alongside a smiling photo of the monarch it revealed the King has already started treatment.
“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.
Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual,” Buckingham Palace said.
The issue is reportedly separate from his benign prostate enlargement that was treated at London Clinic in mid January and the type of cancer the King is diagnosed with has not been revealed.
As with his prostate surgery, the King chose to reveal his diagnosis to the public to ‘prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.’

He was crowned officially at his coronation in 2023. The current Heir Apparent waiting to take the throne after King Charles is his son, William Prince of Wales.
The King is said to be in good spirits.
“The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.”
