Lavanda Selver-Greenway Appointed as Human Resource Manager

#TurksandCaicos, January 18, 2024 – The Office of the Deputy Governor is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Lavanda Selver-Greenway to the post of Human Resource Manager within the Human Resource Management Directorate (HRMD) in the Office of the Deputy Governor.

Having joined the Public Sector in 2000, Mrs. Selver-Greenway embarks on a new chapter in her distinguished career, marked by over two decades of unwavering service to the civil service. Her journey has been characterized by excellence in diverse roles, fostering invaluable experiences and insights, having joined in an entry-level role as a Clerical Officer and now holding a management post for a critical function in the management of the public service.

A staunch advocate for continuous professional development, Mrs. Selver-Greenway has seamlessly blended academic excellence with her career pursuits. She proudly holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, a Master’s Degree in Management from Walden University, and a recent Post Graduate Diploma in International Human Resource Management from the University of Essex. These academic achievements not only showcase her commitment to continuous learning but also underscore her profound understanding of the dynamic realm of human resources.

Remarking on her journey and recent appointment, Mrs. Selver-Greenway stated: “As I embrace this new role, I am filled with a sense of humility and gratitude. Guided by the enduring wisdom of Jeremiah 29:11, ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ I am committed to applying my knowledge, experience, and faith to encourage and inspire. This appointment is not just a milestone in my career but also a testament to the unwavering dedication and hard work over the years. I eagerly anticipate continuing to contribute to our organization’s success, fostering a positive and productive workplace, and continuing to learn and grow in this dynamic field.”

Deputy Governor and Head of the Public Service, Her Excellency Anya Williams, in extending congratulatory remarks to Mrs. Selver-Greenway stated: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs. Lavanda Selver-Greenway as Human Resource Manager within the Human Resource Management Directorate (HRMD) of my office.

As a Human Resource Manager, Mrs. Selver-Greenway will undergird the HRMD with various key functions, including the upkeep of employment data, the management of interview and onboarding schedules, and other significant tasks as assigned by the Director and Permanent Secretary. Mrs. Selver-Greenway will also serve as the Project Coordinator for the planned upgrades to our HR and payroll systems scheduled to continue in the first quarter of this calendar year.

Mrs. Selver-Greenway served as the Executive Assistant (PA) in my office from 2012 to 2020. During the period, she completed both her bachelor’s and master’s Degrees while still performing her full day-to-day duties at an exceptional level. In 2020, she was appointed to the post of Human Resource Officer, where she simultaneously held the human resource management responsibility for both the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Home Affairs and Public Safety.

She has demonstrated an excellent work ethic, a keen attention to detail, and a strong commitment to growth and success over the years.

We are certain that Mrs. Selver-Greenway will succeed in this role, and we look forward to supporting her in whichever way we can.
