#Haiti#Kenya#MultinationalForce, January 29th, 2024 – The Supreme Court of Kenya on Friday January 26th, 2024, blocked Kenya from deploying police officers to Haiti for the multinational force previously slated to be deployed before April 2024.  Reports reveal the judge informed that deploying police officers to Haiti would be illegal and invalid as the Kenyan national security council has no authority to send officers outside of Kenya. This now brings a dark cloud over the hopes of Haiti to recover from gang rule and have elections, reports say. Responding to this, the Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit says this is a hard blow for Haiti and that a plan B is necessary. Also, a spokesman for the Kenyan Government reportedly said they plan on appealing the court’s decision.
