Turks and Caicos Islands Looks Forward to a Successful 2024 Winter Season

#TurksandCaicos, December 20, 2023 – From January to December 2023, the Turks and Caicos Islands welcomed over a million visitors.

The Turks and Caicos Islands received 1,432,844* visitors combined for air and cruise for January -November 2023.  There were 595,503* air arrivals and cruise visitors were 836,341* for the period.

The air arrivals represent a 6.35 percent increase over the corresponding period in 2022 which saw 559,941 arrivals and 54.49 percent over the same period in 2021 which saw 365,460 arrivals.

Cruise visitors have surpassed that of 2022 which saw 612,442* arrivals for the corresponding period. There were 36.56 percent more arrivals to date this year.

Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Josephine Connolly expressed optimism with the growth in air arrivals and cruise visitors as the destination looks ahead to the new year.

“The Turks and Caicos Islands continue to appeal to visitors. Our multigenerational visitors are drawn to our beautiful white sand beaches, sparkling turquoise waters and barefoot luxury.  As a multi-island destination, we have so much history, culture and natural wonders beyond Providenciales. We look forward to welcoming our visitors in 2024 to experience the intrigue and beauty of the Turks and Caicos Islands,” she said.

In the first quarter of 2024, there will be increased marketing in our key source markets and feeder markets to attract more affluent, multi-generational travelers to our luxury multi-island destination.  There is also investment in our tourism products in our sister islands in historical and natural attractions to encourage visitors to expand their experiences beyond Providenciales.

As we prepare to welcome more visitors to our shores, new properties will be coming onstream such as the Andaz Turks and Caicos Residences, a Hyatt-owned brand comprising 59 hotel rooms and 74 residences on the Grace Bay Beach oceanfront.

On Monday, December 18th, 2023 at 2 pm we will also welcome new airlift via Silver Airways twice-weekly non-stop from Fort Lauderdale, providing additional seats from the United States, our leading source market.
