TC PLATES AND TEMPORARY LICENSE PLATES NO LONGER VALID

#TurksandCaicos, December 15, 2023 – The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in collaboration with the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force, wishes to advise the general public that ALL TC Plates and Temporary (T-Plates) are no longer valid.  With immediate effect, any vehicle found to be operating with these plates will be ticketed.  This will be strictly enforced.

License plates are in stock and are available for collection.  Please visit the DMV on your respective island to collect your plates.

The general public is reminded that no vehicle should be operating without the proper license plate, attached to the front and rear of the vehicle. Additionally, no vehicle should be operating with an expired decal or expired insurance policy.  All drivers must also be in possession of a valid driver’s license.

Persons are urged to visit the Department of Motor Vehicles to ensure that they are up to date and compliant with the Road Traffic Ordinance. Failure to do so will result in persons being fined.

Please note that the DMV’s office operating hours are Monday to Thursday: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and Friday 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
