Restaurant Owner case pushed to January; charged with illegal hiring

#TurksandCaicos, December 29, 2023 – Saved By Grace Creole Restaurant owner could be headed to prison if convicted of employing prohibited person(s) when tried on January 16th, 2024.

She was first in court on August 28th when we reported how Clydonne Lycenois Charles appeared without representation and the matter was adjourned. Since that initial court appearance, she has retained lawyers from Griffiths and Partners Law firm in Providenciales.

The matter has been listed numerous times including: September 19; October 18 and 19 and again on November 2 and 3, 2023.  On one occasion, Mr. Conrad Griffiths, KC appeared on her behalf and at her later and continuing hearing, she was represented by senior associate attorney from the same firm, Mr. Murray Snider.

At the hearings in November, two charges of hiring Prohibited Person(s) were read to her in the courtroom of Hon Chief Magistrate, Jolyon Hatmin, where Charles entered a not guilty plea.

Following disclosure submissions by her senior attorney Mr. Snider, the matter was adjourned to a trial date of January 16th 2024.

The female defendant Mrs. MARIE CLYDONNE LYCENOIS CHARLES bail was then extended to that date.
