#TurksandCaicos, December 5, 2023 – The Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority has made connections with a South Florida airline, opening new routes into the country. Silver Airways will begin flights to the Turks and Caicos Islands on December 18th as part of its expansion further into the Caribbean.

Announcing the new route on the Silver Airways X Profile the company said flights would be available as low as $129 one-way, from Fort Lauderdale into the  Providenciales, twice weekly.

Silver Airways was founded twelve years ago, with its headquarters in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida it also lists as its hubs Orlando, Florida; San Juan, Puerto Rico and Tampa, Florida.

Part of the TCIAAs mandate is to make sure that the Turks and Caicos airports are viable businesses increasing commercial flights and quality of service.

The Authority had been in strong talks with several airlines this year about expanding their services into the Turks and Caicos Islands, including new runs into the JAGS McCartney International Airport in Grand Turk.

The TCIAA in recent weeks successfully landed a partner in Virgin Atlantic, with direct service to London; that inaugural flight touching down on November 4 at the Providenciales International Airport.  It is also in the works, according to an announcement by Premier Washington Misick, that two new airlines will add Grand Turk to their Caribbean itineraries.

Silver Airways currently commutes to 35 destinations including the Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, St Kitts and Nevis, St Maarten and The Bahamas with a fleet size of 15 aircraft.
