Male Police Officer charged with Sexual Assault of TCI Regiment woman soldier

#TurksandCaicos, December 21, 2023 – He was born in The Bahamas, lives in Dock Yard in Kew Town, Providenciales and he is a 35-year-old member of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force.  DELANO FULFORD is now also charged with a sex crime.

Fulford on Monday December 18, appeared before the Magistrate’s Court to face a formal charge of sexual assault of a female TCI Regiment Soldier while on the island of South Caicos on August 26th, 2023.

Magnetic Media learned that this was at the Fishermen’s Day festival in South Caicos when the accused male police officer attacked the female soldier. It is alleged to have happened in a house after hours when others were asleep.  The female soldier resisted, left the house and later reported the matter to her superiors who took it up further, and it is now before the Court.

The now suspended, disgraced cop, if convicted could go to prison for up to 10 years if the matter is tried in the Supreme Court.

The case was adjourned until January 8th, 2024 for mention and the police officer is on bail.
