December 10, 2023 – King Charles, Head of State for fourteen sovereign  countries and fourteen overseas territories, some of which are the most vulnerable to Climate Change, spoke on behalf of them at the recent COP 28 Climate Summit in the United Arab Emirates.

“I have seen across the Commonwealth and beyond, countless communities which are unable to withstand — whose lives and livelihoods are laid waste. Surely real action is required to stem the toll of its most vulnerable victims.”

He then called on the gathered countries to restore harmony, and balance or face extinction.

“We are carrying out a frightening experiment of changing every ecological condition all at once that far old strips nature’s ability to cope,”  stressed the Monarch.

He warned that in 2050 our grandchildren would not care about what was said at COP28 as they lived with the consequences of the world’s action or inaction.

Referencing the indigenous worldview which taught that all were connected not just as humans, but all forms of life that share the planet he said

“As part of this grand and sacred system, harmony must be maintained; the Earth does not belong to us.”

The monarch was speaking during ongoing COP28 ceremonies in Dubai.
