#TurksandCaicos, December 10, 2023 – Another aircraft has been added to the intercaribbean lineup and this one is specially and sentimentally branded according to the TCI-based commercial airline company.

“InterCaribbean is proud to announce the addition of another ATR 42-500 baptized ‘Raymond S’ (VQ-TRS) in honor of Raymond Simmons, who has worked for the company since the beginning of operations 31 years ago,” the company said in a November  28th press release.

Raymond Simmons, described as a son of the soil, acts as Station Manager in the capital island, Grand Turk. The ‘Raymond S’ is the third ATR added to the fleet in 2023, joining ‘Capt. Hugo M’ with seven more of these planes to be added in early 2024. The seven additional ATRs were acquired from TAROM Romanian Air Transport.

“The addition of these aircraft will replace our flagship Embraer 120 aircraft, with greater capacity and more comfort, while being more environmentally friendly,” the company said.

The ‘Raymond S’ comes online as InterCaribbean takes on more routes in the Caribbean and struggles with flight delays and cancellations.

The company has publicly made a commitment to increase the quality of service in order to reduce any customer dissatisfaction.
