#TurksandCaicos, December 10, 2023 – Turks and Caicos tourism has another best in the world accolade following the December 1 staging of the World Travel Awards Grand Final Gala, and the title goes to the Sail Rock Resort of South Caicos.

On a glamourous stage at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai for the 30th Annual World Travel Awards, Sail Rock Resort was distinctively the lone Turks and Caicos Islands property to not only cinch the coveted prize but to repeat as best in the category for the second year running.

The 750 acre property, which has creatively tucked its 35 luxury villas into a rustic ridge overlooking two pristine coastlines, brought an upset to the prestigious awards show last year.  Sail Rock, and its rock-star ratings ended a six year winning streak for Zaya Nurai Island in Abu, Dhabi, UAE in 2022.

Getting the nod again in 2023 is validation.

“Sailrock South Caicos proudly represents the quintessence of the Caribbean, offering an unparalleled experience of natural beauty and timeless luxury. Being named the World’s Leading Luxury Villa Resort for the second successive year is a testament to our team’s unwavering commitment to service, hospitality, and excellence. We are honored to receive this prestigious recognition and remain committed to exceeding our guests’ expectations.” – Kashmie Ali, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Sailrock South Caicos.

Sail Rock, which opened in 2017, found itself among a bevy of international beauties vying for the World’s Leading statuette.

Since August, Sail Rock Resort had topped the Caribbean nominees to cop the regional top prize in the category.  By the year end gala and finale, Sail Rock Resort found itself thrust into a new contest which included spectacular escapes like Velaa Private Island in the Maldives; Eagles Nest, New Zealand; the Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah, UAE; Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa in Mauritius; Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas in Greece and the Ungasan Clifftop Resort in Indonesia.

Yet, the splendour of other resorts in the running would pale in comparison; Sail Rock is often touted by its guests as being encompassed by unspoiled beauty,  offering amenities like indulgent spa, irresistible infinity pools and sun-soaked hammocks coupled with uninterrupted views of the ocean, award winning cuisine,  reviving solitude and the impeccable service of staff.

“We’re continuously looking to create better experiences; every year we’re expanding and we’re a 750 acre property.  Two years ago, we had not as much as we have now and we continue to expand the property and add more fun and exciting things for the guests to appreciate while they stay at the resort.  We are really excited about all the progress we’re making and the future plans we have for the resort for the coming years,” said Mr. Ali  when interviewed following the Caribbean gala held in August in St Lucia

All of these wins are noteworthy feats played out before the major players in tourism and travel.  The World Travel Awards gala ceremonies are widely regarded as the best networking opportunities in the travel industry, attended by government and industry leaders, luminaries and international print and broadcast media.

“Today, the WTA brand is recognized globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire,” explains organisers who also labelled the 2023 cadre of winners as, “The finest travel brands in the world..”

As for the official title which Sail Rock Resort has managed to claim as both Caribbean and world’s best, is World’s Leading Luxury Villa Resort 2023.
