Humanitarian Awards 2023/24 this Weekend at Shore Club

#TurksandCaicos, December 10, 2023 – The Turks and Caicos Humanitarian Awards are slated for this Saturday December 9th and a number of islanders are up for awards.

There are three nominees for the premiere award, ‘Humanitarian of the Year’ in 2023/24 iteration of the event namely  Ansa Wilson, Kitch Penn and Rupert Gibson.

In addition to that category, the title of Junior Humanitarian of the year is also available. Nominated are Alicia Bobb, Omardi Morris and Demarco Williams.

Nominated for the Moon Governmental Organization  NGO of the year are The Sisterhood and The Orchard.

While there is an element of suspense for the named, banner awards of the night, the Turks and Caicos Human Rights Commission which hosts the event have already announced some of its winners.

GRAND TURK – Omardi Morris,

SALT CAY – Allen Dickenson,

SOUTH CAICOS – Luedel Goldman,

MIDDLE CAICOS – Steve Pothemus,

NORTH CAICOS- Andrea Rupert Gibson, and finally in PROVIDENCIALES – Barbara Jervis

The winners for the various categories were selected by popular vote via ballot boxes placed around the islands and voting online.

Now in its sixth year, the Humanitarian Awards recognize the selfless contribution of residents to the Turks and Caicos islands. Previous winners include Stan Hartling and Sivil-Dean Morgan.

The event will be held at The Shore Club.
