Firearm Accused Remanded Until January

#TurksandCaicos, December 5, 2023 – Ralph Raphael, 32 appeared in the Providenciales Magistrate’s Court on November 6th, 2023 charged with possession of one round of ammunition and possession of an illegal 380 firearm pistol.

Police reported that Raphael of Bay Road, Blue Hills, Providenciales, is accused of the following offences:

  • One Count of Possession of a Firearm
  • One Count of Possession of Ammunition

The charges stemmed from an incident on Sunday, October 29th, 2023.

At his arraignment before the Hon. Chief Magistrate (CM) he was told by the CM that the only thing to be done is to transfer the matter to the Supreme Court, which is what happened.

Ralph Raphael’s sufficiency hearing is fixed for January 5th or 06th, 2024. He was sent to the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation on remand.

The Chief Magistrate also advised the accused of his right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.

If convicted, 32-year-old Raphael faces 12 months imprisonment.
