#TurksandCaicos, November 1, 2023 – American-TCI National Football League NFL player, Faion Hicks, has switched teams after around a year with the Denver Broncos.

Hicks joined the New Orleans Saints Practice Squad in September 2023 taking him 19-hours away from his old team and putting him in the South Division of the NFL rather than the west where he started in 2022.

Hicks visited the Turks and Caicos in July 2022 shortly after being drafted to the Broncos; it was a delightful season for his family still here in the TCI, residents and young sportsmen. In a visit which was part family-reunion, part introduction to the home of his parents and part impartation – Faion did a stellar job of sharing the realities of his climb when he met up with school age athletes and opened up to Turks and Caicos Sports Commission officials in a candid interview session streamed live on Facebook.

Practice squad players are eligible to be elevated and play official games three times per season.

Hicks was part of a quick revamp for the Saints which brought in a small group of new players. He now wears a jersey boasting the number #30.
