TCIG Announces Crown Land Amnesty Meetings, What Residents will get

#TurksandCaicos, November 14, 2023 – The government is calling all residents to a series of important meetings regarding their eligibility for amnesty under the Crown Land Amnesty Ordinance.

Three events are scheduled; a Providenciales meeting at 6 Parade Avenue, Butterfield Square, Parking Lot on December 1st at 10 am. A Grand Turk hosting at the Gazebo facing the Lands Division Office, on December 6th at 10 am and  finally at the District Commissioner’s Office, Bottle Creek, North Caicos, on December 8th  at 10 am.

The Amnesty ordinance was passed in the House of Assembly in February this year and allows for:

  • An amnesty program to forgive outstanding rent and claims allowing leases to purchase the land their houses are built on.
  • A write-off of arrears for persons wishing to surrender Conditional Purchase Leases (CPL)
  • A 2-year amnesty relieving residents who apply, from the payment of rent and other CPLs to the government.
