#TurksandCaicos, November 14, 2023 – Disappointing day in court for the Director of Public Prosecutions Office on Monday as there was NO CASE once again when witnesses refused to testify against an alleged assailant, allowing the suspect to go free, despite evidence that they may be guilty of the crime.

Appearing in the Supreme Court before her Ladyship, Ms. Tanya Lobban Jackson on Monday November13th, 2023 was 39-year-old COLLIN DELANCY JR.

Around the summer of 2022, a report from the Royal TCI Police said a man who allegedly used physical violence during an aggravated burglary attempt had been charged by detectives of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Force.

The accused was Collin Delancy, of the Bight, Providenciales.

He faced charges of aggravated burglary and possession of imitation firearm to cause fear.

The charges stemmed from a July 26th, 2022, incident where it was alleged that Delancy entered a home on Airport Road, Providenciales, armed with what appeared to be a gun and threatened the occupants by pointing the weapon at them.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP learned that all the complainants in this matter, which includes the entire household have now moved to the United Kingdom.  The DPP was therefore forced to enter a Nolle Prosequi dismissing all charges against Delancy.

The accused was represented by Mrs. Lara Maroof Misick and for the Crown was Mrs. Nayasha Hatmin.

Delancy, supported by his family left the courtroom laughing as he said to this reporter, “…and I just tell you no publishing boy.”
