#DominicanRepublic, November 10, 2023 – The Bahamas isn’t the only Caribbean island getting new flight service from JetBlue Airlines as The Dominican Republic joins the club, receiving service for not one but two.
Punta Cana, the country’s Tourism capital and Santiago de los Caballeros, up-and-coming destination and the epicenter of the country’s rum and cigar industries are the two destinations now seeing daily flights from Orlando, Florida according to Dominican Republic Tourism official, as reported by Caribbean Journal.
This move by JetBlue, the airline informed, is inline with its goals to bring about a broader expansion into Orlando “ as part of its merger with ultra-low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines, which has long had a significant presence in Orlando, particularly to the Caribbean,” Caribbean Journal says, further highlighting that Orlando has become a significant source market for travel to the Caribbean region.
The Dominican Republic recently announced booming tourist arrival numbers and this development will no doubt lead to greater increase, especially since the country continues to break arrival records.
