Five Day Gun Possession Trial, Ex-Cop Verdict coming November 14

#TurksandCaicos, November 9, 2023 – Being represented by King’s Counsel, Oliver Smith in a judge alone firearm trial that lasted exactly five working days in the Grand Turk Supreme Court is the accused MIKHAIL HINSON.

Magnetic Media can report that the firearm trial commenced on Thursday 19th to Wednesday 26th October, 2023.

His Lordship The Hon Mr. Justice Davidson Kervin Baptiste was the presiding Judge and Jury in the trial. The application to be tried without a jury was that of the accused. Representing the Office of the DPP was Principal Public Prosecutor, Clement Joseph.

At the conclusion of the trial on Wednesday October 26th, 2023, Justice Baptiste reserved his  decision or verdict until  November 14th, 2023.

MIKHAIL HINSON, 33 was once a serving member of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force for a very short term. He remains in custody without bail pending the verdict.

If convicted, the former police officer who has been remanded at His Majesty’s Prison since last year October, could be facing seven years imprisonment.
