#TurksandCaicos, November 1, 2023 – False packets of Tylenol have been found in Belize, now the Turks and Caicos Ministry of Health is warning local sellers and consumers to be vigilant regarding the popular over the counter drug.

“The falsified products are packets of 500-milligram extra strength Tylenol with the batch number GS13790 which have an expiration date of March 2024,” explained a report.

Belize Health Officials say the drug turned up in supermarkets across the country but no information was shared on how it got there. No mention was made of the drug having been found in medical facilities.

Identifying markers on these fake packets of Tylenol include:

  • a noticeable protrusion at the back of the packet not seen in the original;
  • No space between the active ingredient and dosage amount
  • A batch number GS13790 and expiration date 03/24

Falsified medications can be deadly having not undergone the rigorous testing and approvals processes that are in place to deem the ingredients in genuine medications safe for consumption.

For now the Turks and Caicos has not reported any cases of the fake Tylenol locally but are advising residents and sellers to be careful.
