Barbados multimillion dollar plan for life enhancement thanks to Saudi Arabia funding

#Barbados, November 24, 2023 – Barbadians are positioned for a better quality of life through a massive USD$150 million plan, announced on November 20th.

The Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Amor Mottley made the revelation saying that it will be poured into improving water-borne facilities, better housing, upgrading the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and building two new state of the art polyclinics.

The money will come from the Saudi Development Fund.

She was speaking at a press conference at the Grantley Adams International Airport, a few days after her return to Barbados from Saudi-Arabia, where she, alongside other CARICOM delegates traveled for the inaugural Saudi-Caricom Summit.

Barbados has other accomplishments from the summit which Mottley revealed in an earlier press conference.

She refers to scholarship developments to have Bajans study in Barbados and vice versa. Additionally, Mottley pointed to health developments hence the pending development of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Their visit, Mottley says, was not only successful but also historic.
