AQUIME CAMPBELL APPOINTED AS DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY RENEWAL

#TurksandCaicos, November 1, 2023 – The Turks and Caicos Islands Government is proud to announce Mr. Aquime Campbell’s appointment as the Deputy Director of Housing and Community Renewal within the Ministry of Physical Planning and Infrastructure Development.

Mr. Campbell embarked on his journey in the private sector in 2016 as an Architect and Project Manager after returning home to the Turks and Caicos Islands from the United Kingdom. In the UK, he served as an Architect and Project Coordinator, amassing extensive experience in the industry.

His time in the United Kingdom was a pivotal stepping stone, propelling his career in the Architectural and Construction Industry. Working with renowned firms and companies, including Cornerstone Architects, SWA Architects, and Kvanar Limited, Mr. Campbell gained experience in both the private and public sectors on a diverse range of high-profile projects.

Developing a keen eye for detail and maintaining a high level of professionalism, he set the standard for excellence in his career. This extensive experience deepened his understanding of the industry, equipping him with a wide array of skills. With each new challenge and project, Mr. Campbell further honed his abilities and played a significant role in project success.

In 2021, he made the transition to the public sector as a Project Manager for the Ministry of Physical Planning and Infrastructure Development in the Public Works Department (PWD). His tenure there included the successful management of several high-profile programs. Later, his focus shifted to the Housing Department, where he served as the Senior Project Manager.

Mr. Campbell is an active and engaged member of the Turks and Caicos Island’s Architectural and Construction Community. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Architectural Technology and Construction Management (Merit), both earned from Sheffield Hallam University.

Regarding his new role as Deputy Director of Housing and Community Renewal, Mr. Campbell expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm:

“I am grateful and honored for the opportunity to continue my service to the Ministry of Physical Planning and Infrastructure Development in my new role as Deputy Director of Housing and Community Renewal. I am eager to begin this journey and I thank God for his continued favor and those that continue to support me. With a commitment to finding creative solutions to the housing crisis and a dedication to making meaningful differences in the lives of those in need. I look forward to working with the Government to actively progress its housing and development goals to ensure safe, quality, and equitable homes for future generations of these Turks and Caicos Islands.”

Her Excellency Anya Williams, Deputy Governor and Head of the Public Service, offered her congratulatory remarks:

“Congratulations is extended to Mr. Aquime Campbell on his appointment as the new Deputy Director of the Department of Housing and Community Renewal Development following the promotion of former Deputy Director Mr. Mike Clerveaux to the post of Director.

It always gives me great pleasure to see public servants excel through the ranks of the Turks and Caicos Islands Public Service.

Aquime in his previous roles as an Architect and as a Project Manager, had demonstrated a high level of knowledge and skill and we are certain will do well in this new role as the department works to increase and to improve the housing stock in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
