TCI Student Support Services Launch

#TurksandCaicos, October 16, 2023 – Turks and Caicos youths will now have an additional support system as the Ministry of Education launched its Student Support Services initiative.

Initiatives like these are needed now more than ever as the TCI is seeing an increase in young men killing each other and  being arrested for drug offenses.

A recent case of this behavior by young men in particular is where a 21 year old took the life of another during National Youth Day Celebrations in Grand Turk.

The services offered by the initiative as highlighted in a flyer are Guidance and Counseling, Education and Behavior Assessment Services, Mentorship Programs, Chaplains in Schools, Parental Support and Workshops, Inter-Departmental Collaboration, Case Conferences, Preventative Programs and Hotline Service.

It was launched on October 16th 2023 at the Blue Haven Resort Conference Room.
