#TurksandCaicos, October 28, 2023 – No holds barred talk show host, Courtney Missick is being sued for defamation by Hon Shaun Malcolm, Turks and Caicos Health and Human Services minister.

The Supreme Court has heard an interim injunction on a specific issue which concerns a defamation suit.  Whereby Mr. Missick on his show allegedly made some specific accusations that, the plaintiff (Minister Malcolm) says he would not be able to prove.

The filing said: Remarks were made that our Client provided documents and evidence directly to the British.  Mr. Missick will have to prove the existence of those documents and evidence that my client allegedly provided said paperwork to the British.

Mr. Courtney Missick, is said to have went as so far as to say that our client is responsible for causing the imprisonment of former ministers.

These are serious allegations and have not been taken lightly.

While Missick has been served notice of the matter, there has been no attempt to shut down Mr. Missick’s talk show or to shut him up; a concern that set people on the offense as exposed in a string of social media comments.

In response to a line of Magnetic Media questions, it was said there is no attempt to breach the pastor-farmer’s right to freedom of speech.

The order by the Court was specific and to say it was an attempt to shut Mr. Missick up would be false; Missick has himself confirmed that he has been advised by way of  service of the documents from the police and is anticipating an expected date to appear in the matter.

The official court document against Pastor MISSICK was filed by attorney Mrs. Latisha Williams-Bruce from the partnership law firm Williams and Belliard Attorneys-at-Law.
