Wayne Williams Jr. Appointed As Director of Mechanical Services

#TurksandCaicos, September 15, 2023 – The Office of the Deputy Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Wayne Williams Jr. to the post of Director of Mechanical Services within the Ministry of Physical Planning and Infrastructure Development.

Mr. Williams is an experienced mechanic with over 15 years of dedicated work in the automotive industry. He began his tertiary educational journey at the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College, earning an Associate’s Degree in Computer Studies. He furthered his education at the Baran Institute of Technology, now Lincoln Tech, and graduated with honours, obtaining a NATEF Certification in Automotive and Auto Body Custom Plus.

Throughout his career, Mr. Williams has gained valuable experience in various roles. He began his career with the Turks and Caicos Islands Government (TCIG) in 2003 as an Assistant Auditor before taking a break to change his course of study. He returned to TCIG in 2009 as a Mechanic within the Mechanical Services Division. Mr. Williams took another break from public service to pursue opportunities with the TCI Ports Authority in Providenciales. He returned in 2018 as the Superintendent of the Mechanical Services Division in Grand Turk. Mr. Williams is also an Adjunct Lecturer in Automotive Technology at the Turks and Caicos Community College.

Mr. Williams, in commenting on his appointment, stated:

“I would like to thank my co-workers, friends, family and most especially my significant other for all their support that was given. Your support allowed me to reach my dream position. I would also like to thank Her Excellency the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Anya Williams, for allowing me to further display my dedication and commitment to showing what the Mechanical Service Division can become.”

Deputy Governor and Head of the Public Service, Her Excellency Anya Williams, in extending congratulatory remarks to Mr. Wayne Williams Jr, stated:

“I am very pleased to congratulate Mr. Wayne Williams Jr on his appointment to the post of Director of the Mechanical Services Division in the Ministry of Physical Planning and Infrastructure Development.

I am always delighted to see individuals excel in the public service. Mr. Williams is a hardworking, highly motivated, and talented public servant. We are certain he will do exceptionally well in this new role and will chart a new vision and work plan to ensure the productivity and future success of TCIG’s Mechanical Services Division.
