#UnitedKingdom, September 11, 2023 – Just over a year ago, on September 8th, 2022 the longest reign of a UK monarch ended with the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and the immediate members of the British Royal Family all marked her passing in their own way.

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, made the trip to England from his residence in the United States, where he visited his grandmother’s grave in private following a presentation at the Well Child Awards in London.

His Father King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla both attended a service in David’s Cathedral in honor of the late queen.  Charles also released a never-before-seen photo of the late queen and an emotional message to the public.

“In marking the first anniversary of Her late Majesty’s death and my accession, we recall with great affection her long life, devoted service, and all she meant to so many of us. I am deeply grateful, too, for the love and support that has been shown to my wife and myself during this year as we do our utmost to be of service to you all,” the monarch said.

Prince William and his family marked the anniversary with a service as well.

Queen Elizabeth died at Balmoral Castle at 96 years old on September 8, 2022 after 70 years of service to the Crown.

STATUE OF QUEEN UNVEILLED NOVEMBER 2022 – King Charles unveils a statue of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth at York Minster; it is designed and carved by Minster stonemason, Richard Bossons.  The statue honours the life of service and dedication of Queen Elizabeth II, informs the Royal Family. “The creation of this statue is also a tribute to the support, affection and prayers that the community of this cathedral, and of this great city, always gave the late Queen, and all for which she stood in the life of the nation and the Commonwealth.” (FILE PHOTO)
