#TurksandCaicos, September 15, 2023 – The General Public is hereby invited to submit nominations for the National Youth Awardee and the National Youth Organization Awardee. Nominations close on September 17th.

The Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Social services proudly announces the inarguable National Youth Awards. Which will take place on 27th September 2023 at Beaches TCI under the Theme “Building TCI Through Volunteerism”. The National Youth Awards is one of the key events that will take place during the Youth Week celebrations that begins on September 24th and ends on the National Youth Day holiday September 29th.
The objective of the National Youth Awards, is to identify and recognize youth leaders and organizations doing incredible work towards the nation’s development and betterment of the society.
The National Youth Awards are a new and unique way to celebrate the diversity of young people in Turks and Caicos Islands and encourage them to engage in their community by recognizing the achievement of some, and thereby inspiring the achievement of many.
There are two major Award Categories that the public is being asked to submit nominations for, these are:
The National Youth Award
The National Youth Awardee must be:
Between 18-35 years
Currently, actively involved in community/ group/ organization during year and prior to awards year.
Utilize special skills/ talents to impact positively on others/ community
Involved for at least 2 years.
Of sound character, responsible, good role model
Second category includes: Youth Organization Award
This award will be given to youth organizations that has contributed to youth development significantly in particular at national level. The categories include :
Outstanding in Community Development Projects
outstanding in Community Impact/ through voluntary service
Outstanding in Community Spirits/ building relationships
