#TurksandCaicos, September 29, 2023 – Since his remand at the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation on August, 15th 2022 and having been refused bail, KENIEL DUVERVIL, 21, had his trial start on Monday 25th September, 2023.

The case is to be tried before his Lordship the Hon Acting Justice Davidson Kervin Baptiste and a Jury in the Grand Turk Supreme Court.  Police had reported that on Sunday, August 7th 2022, detectives of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police carried out investigations into a report of a missing person that they later found buried in a shallow grave in the Bight, Providenciales.

During the enquires, two warrants to search for firearms were executed on the home and a vehicle of KENIEL DUVERVIL located in the Kingston area of the Bight, Providenciales.  As a result of the search, two firearms and ammunition were found – one in his vehicle, the other in the home.

Duvervil was arrested the same day.

On Tuesday August 9th, 2022, the accused was formally charged by RTCIPF officers for (2) counts of Keeping Firearms and (2) counts of Keeping Ammunition.  No one was ever charged for the shooting death of the missing male that was found buried in the Bight, Providenciales in a shallow grave.

The investigation into that homicide and many others in the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) are still opened.

An update in this ongoing trial will come in the new week.  Duvervil has hired by Finbar Grant as his defence attorney.
