#TurksandCaicos, September 15, 2023 – The Office of the Deputy Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Lashaunda Dickenson-Skippings to the post of Special Needs Coordinator of Assessments in the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Social Services.
Mrs. Dickenson-Skippings holds: a Bachelor of Education Degree in Educational Assessment from Mico University College (2011) and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Liverpool John Moore’s University (2023).
Her previous posts include: Special Education Programme Coordinator for Primary Schools in Zone II and Vice Principal of the Thelma Lightbourne Primary School.
Commenting on her appointment Mrs. Dickenson-Skippings stated:
“I am grateful to be awarded the opportunity to work in the capacity of Coordinator of Assessments. I will continue in my best efforts to carry out my duties with integrity, excellence and faith in God as it is ‘He that worketh in me both to will and to do his good pleasure’ – Philippians 2:13.
I am thankful to God for His faithfulness; He has proven His word to make all things work together for my good. I am grateful to my family and my local congregation for their constant support and prayers. I am thankful to the Deputy Governor and her team for the opportunity to serve in this capacity.”
Deputy Governor and Head of the Public Service Her Excellency Anya Williams in extending congratulations to Mrs. Lashaunda Dickenson-Skippings stated:
“It is with great pleasure that I congratulate Mrs. Lashaunda Dickenson-Skippings on her appointment to the post of Coordinator of Assessments at the Special Needs Education Centre in the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Social Services.
The Coordinator of Assessments will oversee the rotation of assessments that are provided to students and will assist with IEP development for students presenting special needs across the Turks and Caicos Islands.
This is Mrs. Dickenson-Skippings second promotion in two years while completing her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership assisted by the Public Service Professional Development Fund, and demonstrates her drive and commitment to education.
