#TurksandCaicos, September 2, 2023 – The second luxury branded resort for the Turks and Caicos, earlier this month, closed its final phase of financing and announced construction would begin immediately.

Andaz Turks and Caicos, is a Hyatt hotel and will fill a 5.5 acre spread on the western end of Grace Bay in Provo.

Described as a long-time resident and realtor in TCI, John Zammit leads the investor group and said the project continues to see strong interest since launching sales, surpassing $22 million to-date, and will begin welcoming owners and guests in late 2025.

A report on the progress of the development in Providenciales, said:  Lead lender Alpha Technologies Inc. marks the final phase of financing on the project led by Vista Development Inc. This milestone shifts the initiative to “shovel-ready”, with construction and deployment of the general contractor, BYD TCI Construction, slated to start immediately.”

Steve McConaghy, Vista Development Construction Manager, is also quoted in that report as saying, “We are truly excited to have our contractor mobilized and to now see Andaz Turks & Caicos coming out of the ground.”

An investor group, led by John Zammit, also joins the project’s board of directors and management team.

Mr. Zammit, a longtime Turks & Caicos resident and experienced real estate developer will now sit with the developers, Matt McDonald and Jon Siegel to ensure Andaz Turks and Caicos is a success.

Among the perks for the site, according to the developers is Smith’s Reef which they say “brings an authentic, intimate feeling of being quite unlike anywhere else in the world.”
