#TurksandCaicos, September 15, 2023 – It was around late July 2023 Magnetic Media received word from the nation’s capital that a mother was arrested by police officials on that Island for being in possession of illegal ammunition.

At the time, it was not clear how many bullets she allegedly had in her bag heading to Providenciales through the JAGS McCartney International Airport.  We have since learned it was a single round of ammo revealed to us by a well place Grand Turk source.

Well known lady, RUBY FORBES, has appeared before the Hon. Grand Turk Resident Magistrate on Friday September 8th, 2023 on an ammunition charge and was remanded to the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation until a Sufficiency Hearing, slated for November 3.

The mother, who now has two other sons in prison both on firearms allegations was granted bail on Monday  September 11th, 2023 after her attorney Noel Skippings applied for bail in the Supreme Court on her behalf.  She is released after spending the weekend in prison with her sons to the sufficiency hearing date.

If convicted, she could be sentenced to a mandatory minimum of 12 years imprisonment for a lone bullet according to the amended Firearms Ordinance of the TCI.
